KHOROG, June 8, 2009, Asia-Plus  — Five persons have been reported missing since June 6 as Nissan with eight passengers on board fell into the river in GBAO’s Rushan district, according to the GBAO police directorate.

The accident took place in the Sanobod area, 559th kilometer of the highway from Dushanbe to Khorog.  “The driver – resident of Dushanbe Komil Rahmatov – apparently could not control the vehicle and it fell into the river,” said the source, “The driver and three passengers, including one Chinese national, with different injures were taken to the central district hospital in Rushan.”

Five persons, including two children, have been reported missing and a search operation is continuing, he added.
