KULOB, June 10, 2009, Asia-Plus — A group of Chinese specialists are arriving in Kulob tomorrow to install equipment on the small hydropower plant in the city of Kulob, the head of Kulobdehotsokhtmon (Kulob state-controlled rural construction company) Bobojon Pirakov said in an interview with Asia-Plus.

Kulobdehotsokhtmon has built the plant and the equipment for it has been purchased from China.  “A 220 kW power plant will be able to meet some one-third of the city’s requirements in electricity during autumn-winter period,” Pirakov said.

According to him, the plant will be put into operation in a couple of months.
