Chinese investments will promote Uzbek energetics. A number of joint projects are realized for development of power energetics in particular. Chinese national electrical equipment corporation (CNEEC) finished supply of technological equipment for construction of Akhangaran hydroelectric station, located in Tashkent region, and Andijan hydroelectric station-2. Putting these stations into operation is planned to the end of 2009 (in III quarter – Akhangaran and in IV quarter – Andijan) by Uzbek government.

Given power stations are considered small in volumes (total construction costs are US $52 million), specialists noted. Financing of construction is realized by means of Chinese “Eximbank” credit in a value of US $15.93 million. Credit was provided under guarantee of Uzbek government and Ministry of agriculture and water industry in Uzbekistan.
