OSCE Secretary General Marc Perrin de Brichambault highly valued preparation of Kazakhstan for OSCE Chairmanship in 2010.

“We will provide all possible support to Kazakhstan in its OSCE Chairmanship. We are surprised and are grateful to Kazakhstan for its Chairmanship in OSCE,” Marc Perrin de Brichambault told reporters on Friday after meeting with the Kazakh Foreign Minister.

The OSCE Secretary General said that with Foreign Minister Tazhin they discussed tasks, on which Kazakhstan should focus during OSCE Chairmanship, these are primarily strengthening of the Organization, enforcement of rule of law, strengthening of civil institutions, democracy and elections.

During the forthcoming OSCE Chairmanship in 2010, Afghanistan will be one of the key issues of the future architecture of the European security in the OSCE region.
