DUSHANBE, July 7, 2009, Asia-Plus  — The Kazakh Embassy in Dushanbe has initiated a roundtable meeting to discuss issues related to inter-ethnic and inter-religious accord.

The organizers of the meeting, formally titled “Kazakhstan and Tajikistan: Issues of Inter-ethnic and Inter-religious Accord,” include the Friendship Association, Tajikistan-Kazakhstan, and Tajik Journalists’ Union.  The meeting is being held at the office of Tajik Journalists’ Union.

Known public and political figures, representatives of universities, researchers as well as journalists are participating at the meeting, aiming to discuss issues related to preservation and strengthening of inter-ethnic accord, as well as different initiatives in the field of inter-religious cooperation, the source at the Kazakh Embassy said.

The meeting participants are also expected to exchange views on the policy conducted by Tajikistan and Kazakhstan to establish inter-religious dialogue and build tolerant stable society.
