DUSHANBE, July 7, 2009, Asia-Plus — Tajik private air carrier, Somon Air, plans to launch a number of new air routes this month.
This week, the airline will launch the air route from Dushanbe to Krasnoyarsk (Russia), the Somon Air press service reported. The company will use Boeing 737-800 to operate this flight. The first flight from Dushanbe to Krasnoyarsk is scheduled for July 10.
On July 11, Somon Air will launch the air routes from Dushanbe to Khujand (Tajikistan) and from Khujand to the Russian cities of Krasnoyarsk and Sochi.
Besides, the company is also planned to operate regular flights from Dushanbe to Frankfurt am Main beginning on July 29.
At present Somon Air offers two international routes: Dushanbe-Moscow and Dushanbe-Dubai.
Somon Air is an airline based in Dushanbe. It is Tajikistan’s first private air carrier. Somon Air was granted an operating license and aviation operator certificate in 2006. As of January 16, 2009, the Somon Air fleet included Boeing 737-400 (which is operated by East Air) and Boeing 737-800.
