DUSHANBE, August 10, 2009, Asia-Plus  — An eight-year-old girl was murdered in Sughd’s Panjakent district by her rapists, after she was raped.

According to the Ministry of Interior (MoI), the body of the 8-year-old N.M. with signs of violent death was found in the territory of the Zarafshon Farm in Panjakent Saturday morning.

The source at a MoI told Asia-Plus today that two persons, the Mukhtorov brothers, Gholibjon, 35, and Komiljon, 17, have been arrested on suspicion of having been involved in the murder and they have confessed their crime.

“The preliminary investigation has established that on August 5, they picked her up in a car by fraud and took to the Zarafshon Farm, where they raped her and then smothered her,” the source said.

Criminal proceedings have been instituted against the Mukhtorov brothers and an investigation is under way.
