DUSHANBE, August 26, 2009, Asia-Plus  — A book exhibition dedicated to the 18th anniversary of Uzbekistan’s Independence will open at the National Library named after Abulqosim Firdavsi in Dushanbe on August 28.

Books about the past and present of Uzbekistan will be put on display in the exhibition that will run through September 1.

Uzbek Ambassador to Tajikistan Shokasym Shoislomov, representatives of Tajik intelligentsia as well as diplomatic missions and international organizations active in Tajikistan are expected to attend the opening ceremony of the exhibition.
