The Interior Ministry of Kyrgyzstan suggests tightening of External Labor Migration law. Moldomusa Kongantiev, the Internal Minister of Kyrgyzstan submitted draft additions to the document at session of Ak Zhol fraction on Wednesday.

As to Kongantiev, it is necessary to tighten terms for acquiring residence permits by foreign citizens and stateless persons in Kyrgyzstan.

“Amendments have been initiated by constant growth of illegal labor migrants,” the minister said.

At least 4,952 thousand people were brought to administrative action for illegal residence in the republic in 2007, while the rate reached 7,734 thousand in 2008.
