KHUJAND, September 8, Asia-Plus  — Investigation into the case of embezzlement of more some 1.5 million somoni (TJS) at the Sughd regional hospital has been completed and the case has moved to court, Asia-Plus has learned from Ms. Mavjouda Poulodova, a judge at the Khujand city court.

According to her, criminal proceedings have been instituted against Poulod Abdulloyev, an accountant  at the hospital, and Alisher Usmonov, a leading specialist at the Sughd main finance directorate.

“They face charge of embezzlement of state funds, service fraud and preparation for crime,” said the judge, “Acting in collusion with the hospital chief accountant Bobo Rezvonov, who is currently on the lam, they have embezzlement some 1.5 million somoni of state funds over the past two years.”
