KHUJAND, October 3, 2009, Asia-Plus  — 65 new HIV infection cases have been registered in the Sughd province over the first nine months of this year, bring a total number of the officially registered HIV sufferers in the area to 419.

According to the Sughd Regional AIDS, of the overall number of the officially registered HIV sufferance in northern Tajikistan, 310 are men, 109 are women.  Among them, are six children aged 2 to 14, the source said.
