DUSHANBE, October 6, 2009, Asia-Plus  — Chairman of Barqi Tojik (Tajik electric systems) power holding, Sanat Rahimov, today signed an order to cut off electricity supplies to the entire electricity debtors across the country irrespective of their forms of property.

Nozirjon Yodgori, a spokesman for Barqi Tojik, told Asia-Plus that special commissions have been set up in all regions of the country for the collection of funds for electricity consumption.  “The commissions are authorized to cut off electricity supplies to debtors if they refuse to pay off their debts.”

According to him, these measures are aimed at ensuring regular supply of electricity to the population and enterprises that do not have electricity debts.
