DUSHANBE, October 14, 2009, Asia-Plus  — Tajik national TV channel, Shabakai Avval (Channel One), intends to open its correspondent’s offices in the Russian Federation and Germany within the next two months, the first deputy head of the Committee for TV and radio-broadcasting, Abdurahmon Abdumannonov, announced at a news conference in Dushanbe today.

According to him, Shabakai Avval currently has its correspondent’s office in Kyrgyzstan, Turkey and Qatar.

“We realize that opening of correspondent’s offices outside the country requires considerable funds and opportunities,” said Abdumannonov, “However, such offices are necessary, and after opening of the correspondent’s offices in Russia and Germany, we will seek opening of our offices in other countries, in particular in Afghanistan, Iran and Kazakhstan.”

Reports prepared by these offices will be broadcast through all the Tajik national TV channels, including Safian, Jahonnamo and Bahoriston, because these channels do not yet have opportunities to open their offices abroad or send their reporters to other countries, he added.
