DUSHANBE, November 9, 2009, Asia-Plus — Officers from the Vakhsh police department (Khatlon province) have seized a large amount of hashish,

According to the Ministry of Interior (MoI), Khiariddin Mahmadrahimov, the resident of Khatlon’s Khovaling district, was detained in the Vakhsh district yesterday on suspicion of having been involved in drug pushing. Some nine kilograms of hashish were confiscated from him.

Criminal proceedings have been instituted against Mahmadrahimov and an investigation is under way.
