KHUJAND, November 21, 2009, Asia-Plus — A minor girl from Sughd’s Konibodom district has committed suicide because of hard economic problems in family, according to the Sughd police directorate.
“The 16-year-old H.R. from the Pouloton jamoat in the Konibodom district committed suicide by self-hanging yesterday,” said the source, “According to the preliminary investigation, she was motivated by hard economic problems in her family.”
In the meantime, the 56-year-old resident of the Istaravshan district also killed himself by self-hanging on November 20.
Prosecutor’s offices of Konibodom and Istaravshan have instituted criminal proceedings to investigate the cases.
