Russian and U.S. presidents, Dmitry Medvedev and Barack Obama, discussed the preparation of a new strategic offensive arms treaty by telephone on Saturday.
The presidents had a meaningful exchange of views on the results attained in this field and prospects for completing the work over this document, which is crucial for strategic stability.
Both presidents noted that their countries’ delegations in Geneva were working intensively and that substantial progress had been made at the talks.
The Russian and U.S. leaders decided to give instructions to members of their delegation to continue intensive dialogue in order to be able to reach the final agreement on all issues.
