KHUJAND, December 15, 2009, Asia-Plus  — Ms. Nina Klyazvo, an expert from the administration of the Vitebsk Free Economic Zone (FEZ) in Belarus, is completing her two-month work at the FEZ Sughd in northern Tajikistan.

Speaking in an interview with Asia-Plus, the FEZ Sughd administration head Anvar Yoqubov said that Ms. Klyazvo was preparing recommendations on the structure of management of the FEZ Sughd and the plan of immediate tasks of its administration for the coming two years.

According to him, training for managers and specialists from enterprises and organizations based in the territory of the FEZ Sughd is being launched in Khujand today with support from the OSCE Office in Tajikistan.

“They will be instructed in developing business-plans and investment projects,” Yoqubov said, noting that the training is being conducted by specialists from the Khujand-based consulting company, Business Consulting.

We will recall that the Government of Tajikistan passed a law on Free Economic Zones in 2004, establishing zones in Sughd and Panj (Khatlon province).  These zones create favorable conditions that stimulate investment opportunities in Tajikistan, creating more jobs, boosting local production, and increasing the country’s export potential.
