The Uzbekenergo state joint stock company held a seminar to explain the clauses of the new law on electric power industry. The heads of power producing enterprises and electric networks, as well as representatives of the ministries and other bodies participated in the event.

The new law on electric power industry entered in force on 30 September 2009. It establishes clear rues of regulation of relations in the field of electric power production, transmission, distribution, sale and consumption.

The adoption of the law creates a balanced legal system of management of the electric power industry and regulation of relations between the energy suppliers and consumers.

According to Uzbekenergo chairman of board B.Teshabayev, the country’s power system today fully satisfies the demand of the economy and the population in the electric energy, and part of the energy is exported.
