DUSHANBE, January 21, 2010, Asia-Plus – The Dushanbe independent weekly Asia-Plus marks its 10th anniversary today.

The first issue of the weekly was brought out on January 21, 2000 and today, Asia-Plus soundly holds leading positions among the Russian-language sociopolitical print media in the country in terms of circulation and influence on society.

The Media Group Asia-Plus launched the project to issue social and political newspaper in January 2000.  Following the results of work in 2000, the Ministry of Culture and Information of Tajikistan named Asia-Plus the “Newspaper of the Most Operational and Authentic News”.  In 2001, the weekly received the Abulqosim Lohouti Award instituted by Tajik Journalists’ Union.

Over the past decade, the weekly has tried to be at people’s side, covering problem facing Tajik people as far as possible.

Staff members of the news agency Asia-Plus congratulate their colleagues on their jubilee and wish them health, happiness, success and new achievements in their not easy but noble cause.

In the second half-year of 2010, the Media Holding Asia-Plus will mark another jubilee – the 15th anniversary of the founding of Tajikistan’s first independent news agency Asia-Plus.
