DUSHANBE, February 8, 2010, Asia-Plus  — A February 8 government meting, presided by President Emomali Rahmon, considered issues related to electricity supplies, implementation of a number economic development projects and preparations for the spring sowing campaign, according to presidential press service.

The meeting participants included senior officials from a number of relevant ministries and organizations of the country.

President Rahmon ordered relevant bodies to take the issues of providing residential customers and industrial enterprises with electrical power under the strict control.

The head of state also urged to speed up the construction of the hydroelectric power plants, including the Roghun HPP, Sangtuda-2 HPP, Nourobod HPP and Shurob HPP as well a new power and heat station in Dushanbe.

He also ordered to accelerate work on the construction of inter-district power transmission networks and four spinning mills in Mastchoh, Zafarobod, Yovon and Bokhtar districts.

Speaking at the meeting, the president pointed to the necessity of speeding up exploration work on oil-and-gas deposits.

Rehabilitation of roads, enhancement of the education sector and preparations for the spring sowing campaign were also among major topics of the meeting, presidential press service said.
