DUSHANBE, February 20, Asia-Plus  — Kabirjon Jourayev, first deputy head of the Committee for Youth, Sports and Tourism Affairs under the Government of Tajikistan, heading a Tajik youth delegation departed for Tehran on February 19 for a week-long visit.

According to the Committee press service, the purpose of the visit is for the Tajik youth delegation to discuss youth policy issues with Iranian colleagues and promote further expansion of friendly relations between Tajikistan and Iran.  The delegation will stay in Iran till February 25.

Iranian youth delegation is expected to repay visit to Tajikistan this month as well, the source said.

It is to be noted that these visits take place in the framework of agreements reached between the youth committees of Tajikistan and Iran in May 2009.  A memorandum of cooperation signed last May provides for organization of joint youth events and expansion of bilateral cooperation between the two countries in the field of youth policy.
