KHUJAND, March 11, 2010, Asia-Plus  — To-date, physical and legal entities of Sughd province have bought shares in open joint-stock company (OJSC) NBO Roghun for 184.159 million somoni, according to the Sughd regional commission for supporting construction of the Roghun HPP.

Residents of the Bobojonghafurov district alone have bought shares in Roghun for 31.399 million somoni, the source said.

To raise funds to complete construction of the Roghun HPP the government started to sell shares in Roghun to people on January 6 this year.  Tajikistan has issued 6 billion somoni (US$1.37 billion) worth of Roghun shares.
