DUSHANBE, March 17, 2010, Asia-Plus  — Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdymuhammedov is expected to pay a state visit to Tajikistan from March 18-19, according to the Tajik MFA information department.

Tomorrow, President Berdymukhammedov is scheduled to hold talks with his Tajik counterpart, President Emomali Rahmon.

The talks of Tajik and Turkmen leaders are expected to result in signing of a joint statement and enlarged negotiations with participation of the government delegations of the two countries will end with signing of six government-to-government and interagency cooperation documents, the source said.    

The same day, Turkmen leader will also hold talks with Chairman of the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament) Shukurjon Zuhurov and visit Tajik State Medical University in Dushanbe.

On March 19, Rahmon and Berdymuhammedov will attend celebrations dedicated to the Navrouz holiday in the Danghara district, Khatlon province.
