ISFARA, March 17, 2010, Asia-Plus  — Senior representatives from border services of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan have gathered in the Tajik northern city of Isfara today to discuss cooperation issues.

The meeting participants have exchanged views on the present situation on the Tajik-Kyrgyz border and measures taken by them to strengthen border control.

The sides have also considered issues related to state and prospects of further expansion of cooperation between the border services of the two countries and discussed the progress of implementation of a joint complex plan on cooperation.

A working meeting of Tajik border troops commander, Major-General Sherali Mirzo, with his Kyrgyz counterpart, Major-General Askar Zhaparov, took place on sidelines of the consultations in Isfara,
