DUSHANBE, March 30, 2010, Asia-Plus  — Pakistani national has been arrested at the Dushanbe airport on suspicion of having been involved in drug trafficking, according to the Customs Service under the Government of Tajikistan.

Pakistani national Arbab Said Anvar, 53, was traveling to Dubai on a Somon Air flight on March 26.  An inspection of passengers on this flight found 3.919 kilograms of heroin hidden in one of three sports bags belonging to Mr. Arbab Said Anvar, the source at the Customs Service said.

The transportation prosecutor’s office has instituted criminal proceedings on the drug charges and an investigation is under way.
