DUSHANBE, March 30, 2010, Asia-Plus — Two-day Tajik-German consultations on financial and technical cooperation have started in Dushanbe today, according to the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade (MEDT).

The source at a MEDT said the German delegation is led by representative of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, Mr. Gido Roiter (phonetically spelled).

The delegations are considering issues related to preparation of the intergovernmental negotiations on cooperation in 2010-2011 that are scheduled to take place in autumn this year.

The sides are also discussing the progress of implementation of projects sponsored by the German Government; namely, rehabilitation of the TB hospital, Machiton, in Vahdat district, construction of new schools in Khatlon province, improvement of health care services for pregnant women and infants, as well as rehabilitation of municipal infrastructure, the source said.

The sides are also planned to consider issues related to the replacement of switchyard at the Norak HPP and construction of small power plant in GBAO’s Murgab district.
