KHUJAND, April 10, 2010, Asia-Plus  — In January-March 2010, Sughd province has produced a total of 319.432 million somoni worth of industrial goods, according to the Sughd agency for statistics.

Compared to January-March 2009 the index of the volume of production of industrial goods amounted to 129.1 percent.

Over the report period, only 130 enterprises (53.7 percent) reached the January-March 2009 production level and production volumes of 51 enterprises (21.1 percent) decreased.  Moreover, 61 enterprises, or 25.2 percent of the overall number (242), were not in operation, the source said.      

Of the 75 basic types of industrial products the output of 35 items (46.6 percent) increased, and the output of 20 (26.7 percent) decreased.  20 items have not been produced over the report period.

Joint ventures operating in the province accounted for 24.2 percent of the overall volume of industrial goods produced in Sughd over the same three-month period.
