The Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) is an international organization with a permanent delegation to the United Nations.  It groups 57 member states, from the Middle East, Africa, Central Asia, Caucasus, Balkans, Southeast Asia and South Asia.  These nations decided to pool their resources together, combine their efforts and speak with one voice to safeguard the interest and ensure the progress and well-being of their peoples and those of other Muslims in the world over.

The Organization was established upon a decision of the historical summit which took place in Rabat, Kingdom of Morocco on September 25, 1969 as a result of criminal arson of Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem.
