Khorog. June 24. “Asia-Plus” — This morning Tajikistan President Emomali Rahmon, who is currently on his working trip to the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region where 13th anniversary of the National Unity Day is celebrated, departed from Darvaz region and arrived in Rushan region.
Upon his arrival to Rushan, President Rahmon visited regional orphanage, Bahtibek Bahtibekov, Head of the Socio-Cultural Department of Rushan Regional Administration, told the AP.
Following his visit to the local orphanage President Rahmon departed for Derrushon village and took part in the opening ceremony of a new building of the #6 secondary school for 240 pupils.
In the second half of the day President Rahmon is scheduled to visit Shugnan region, regional officials told the AP.
In the course of his yesterday’s trip to Darvaz region, President Rahmon launched the construction of Shirg-2 small hydropower plant with productive capacity of more than 1,200 kilowatt. He also took part in the ceremony of putting a new branch office of Amonatbank and small sport complex into operation.
President Rahmon’s visit to GBAO will last till June 28.
