DUSHANBE, July 20 2010, Asia-Plus  — An operation carried out by Dushanbe police in Dushanbe’s neighborhood 33 on July 19 led to the arrest of drug pusher, according to the Ministry of Interior (MoI).

He proved to be 35-year-old jobless from Khatlon’s Vose district, Jumakhon Mirzoyev, the source at a MoI said.  A package containing narcotic drug that was tested positive to heroin weighing some 3 kilograms was confiscated from Mirzoyev.

The same day, the 37-year-old Mahmadnozir Sherov was detained in Dushanbe on suspicion having bee involved in drug trafficking.  100 wraps of narcotic drug, tested positive to heroin weighing 457 grams, were confiscated from him.

Criminal proceedings have been instituted against both drug pushers and an investigation is under way.

Besides, 800 bushes of wild hemp have been discovered and destroyed in Rushan district of Gorno Badakhshan within the framework of the anti-drug operation, dubbed Kuknor 2010 (Poppy 2010), the source added.
