DUSHANBE, July 28, 2010, Asia-Plus — The number of mobile phone users in Tajikistan rose 28 percent in the year to June 30, 2010, reaching more than 5.9 million people, Minister of Transport and Communications Olim Boboyev told reporters on July 27.
Meanwhile the number of users of fixed telecommunications services rose 3 percent over the report period, reaching 342,000 people.
As of June 30, 2010, 820,700 users of wireless Internet were registered in the country, the minister added.
