KHUJAND, August 27, 2010, Asia-Plus — Khujand authorities have allotted parcels of land to the local elderly care center for planting various agricultural crops for the center, Asia-Plus has learned from the center administrators.

The center is now home for 49 people aged 58 to 90.  Besides, the center specialists visit 205 other elderly people in Khujand who need care.  31 people now work with the Khujand elderly care center.

“It is to be noted that we have received more than 331,000 somoni from the regional budget this year; 114,000 somoni of this amount will go to organizing five meals a day,” said the source, “Besides, our sponsors and ordinary people support us, making donations, especially during the month of Ramadan.”
