DUSHANBE, November 13, 2010, Asia-Plus  — More than 1,600 specialists from the CIS nations, including Tajikistan, have taken retraining courses at the Bauman Moscow State Technical University (Bauman MSTU) in recent years, the Bauman MTSU Chancellor Igor Fyodorov remarked at an international scientific and practical conference “State and Prospects of Development of Professional Retraining for the CIS Specialists on New Directions of Development Technologies” in Moscow on November 12.

According to the Bauman MTSU official representative Andrey Volokhov, the conference that was organized under support of the CIS Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation (IFHC) brought together representatives of leading universities from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan to discuss issues related to training of personnel for advanced technology sectors of industry, competitiveness of training programs, state of distance learning, etc.

The Bauman MTSU now coordinates the system of training and retraining of specialists in advanced technologies for the CIS nations.

The Bauman Moscow State Technical University is a public university located in Moscow, Russia. Bauman MSTU is one of the oldest and largest Russian technical university offering B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in various engineering fields and applied sciences.  From 1918 to 2010 more than 144,000 students graduated with different engineering degrees.  Most of them chose to become scientists or engineers in the leading research centers, universities, private and government owned companies
