KULOB, January 25, 2011, Asia-Plus — Inspections by specialists from the Kulob land management committee recorded 838 instances of violation of the country’s land legislation, ranging from use of land without appropriate certificates to unauthorized acquisition of farmland, in all the ten districts of Khatlon’s Kulob region in 2010, the Kulob land management committee head Toir Saidov said in an interview with Asia-Plus.

According to him, legal and physical entities were fined a total of 244,000 somoni for violation of the land legislation, which is 44,810 somoni more than in 2009.

“We had to sent cases of materials of 47 violators to prosecutor’s offices and 105 others cases to courts,” Saidov said, noting that the most serious situation was in Farkhor and Kulob districts.

 

Shouroobod district produces more than 18.013 mln somoni worth of goods in 2010 (open)

KULOB, January 25, 2011, Asia-Plus /Turko Dikayev/ — In 2010, the Shouroobod district in Khatlon province produced a total of 18.0136 million somoni worth of various goods, primarily farm produce, which is nearly one somoni more than in 2009, the Shouroobod chairman Amirkhon Ikromov told reporters on January 24.

According to him, local coal mining enterprise, Koni Angisht, extracted 3,101 tons of coals last year.

The district also produced 9,507 tons of wheat flour, 53.5 tons of cooking (cotton) oil, 162 tons of bread and bakery products, etc.

“The district administration has received a number of applications from local entrepreneurs for launching small enterprises for processing vegetables and fruits,” Ikromov added.
