KULOB, February 4, 2011, Asia-Plus  — A two-day training seminar for local NGOs on attracting funds of commercial organizations for NGOs activities began in the city of Kulob today.

Dodarbek Saydaliyev, director of the Kulob-based Shahrvand Civil Society Support Center, says the training is being conducted by specialists from Iranian Institute for  Innovations and Technology Research (Yazd).

“Iranian NGOs now function practically without financial support from international communities, using domestic resources,” said Saydaliyev, “Iranian specialists will share this experience with our public associations.”

According to him, trainers from the Shahrvand center conducted workshops on the conflict settlement issues in Iran (Tehran and Yazd) in January this year.

“Such joint efforts will strengthen capacities of NGOs in Tajikistan and Iran,” Saydaliyev added.
