DUSHANBE, March 9, 2011, Asia-Plus — There was an explosion in Dushanbe Tuesday morning.

Witnesses say the blast outside the Lesnaya Skazka Restaurant in Dushanbe was sufficiently powerful that it blew out the windows of the nearby apartment building.  A teenager reportedly sustained slight wounds in the explosion.

“We were having breakfast when quite a powerful explosion occurred between 8:00 am to 8:30 am,” one of witnesses said, “The blast blew out the windows of our apartment.  I ran out onto the balcony and saw that people gathered near the Lesnaya Skazka Restaurant, which is located opposite our apartment building.  One teenager was covered with blood.”

“He proved to be the son of the restaurant guard.  The teenager sustained slight wounds and he is now at hospital,” the witness noted.

The Interior Ministry press service says a special commission has been set up to investigate the cause of the explosion.
