DUSHANBE, March 9, 2011, Asia-Plus — Plates of detonator have been founds at the site of an explosion that occurred outside the Lesnaya Skazka Restaurant in Dushanbe’s neighborhood # 82 Tuesday morning, the source at one of Tajikistan’s power-wielding structures told Asia-Plus today.

“This allows concluding that a shell-less explosive device detonated outside the Lesnaya Skazka Restaurant yesterday morning,” the source said, noting that criminal proceedings have been instituted to probe into the explosion.

According to him, the law enforcement authorities are considering under which article of Tajikistan’s Penal Code to categorize this crime.  A special team has been set up to investigate the blast.

As it had been reported earlier, there was an explosion in Dushanbe Tuesday morning.  Witnesses say the blast outside the Lesnaya Skazka Restaurant in Dushanbe was sufficiently powerful that it blew out the windows of the nearby apartment building.  A teenager reportedly sustained slight wounds in the explosion.

“We were having breakfast when quite a powerful explosion occurred between 8:00 am to 8:30 am,” said one of witnesses, “The blast blew out the windows of our apartment.  I ran out onto the balcony and saw that people gathered near the Lesnaya Skazka Restaurant, which is located opposite our apartment building.  One teenager was covered with blood.”  “He proved to be the son of the restaurant guard.  The teenager sustained slight wounds and he is now at hospital,” the witness noted.
