DUSHANBE, March 28, 2011, Asia-Plus — Six persons have been killed and at least 13 others have been injured in eight traffic accidents that have been registered in Tajikistan over the past weekends, according to the Interior Ministry traffic police department.

One person was killed and two others were killed on March 26 as Mercedes and Opel-Astra collided in Ghonchi district, Sughd province.  The cause of the accident is under investigation.

On March 27, Opel-Astra moving from Dushanbe to Norak crashed into Lexus-470 in Norak district.  As a result of the collision, the Opel driver and one of his passengers died on the spot, while three other passengers of Opel and the Lexus driver and his two passengers sustained various injuries and were taken to the Norak central hospital.  The cause of the accident is under investigation.
