DUSHANBE, April 20, 2011, Asia-Plus – Deputy Interior Minister, Saidkhon Jurakhonov, told reporters on Aril 20 that Farhod Abdulloyev, 25, the son of the Tajik Supreme Court chairman Nusratullo Abdulloyev, is suspected of causing an accident in Dushanbe which led to the death of Chinese national.

Muhammadi Muhammadiyev, the chief of the Interior Ministry investigation department, noted that criminal proceedings have been instituted against Farhod Abdulloyev under the provisions of Article 212 of Tajikistan’s penal code – violation of the traffic safety rules and exploitation of vehicles.

Muhammadiyev stressed that Farhod Abdulloyev had not been taken into custody.  “He was not taken into custody not because he is the son of high-ranking state official, but because under our legislation, the person involved in a traffic accident is not taken into custody,” he said.

We will recall that a 46-year-old woman from China who worked for China Roads and Bridge Corporation in Tajikistan was killed in a traffic accident in Dushanbe on April 12.  According to the Interior Ministry traffic police directorate, the accident took place on the Amirshoyev Street.  “The BMW driven by 25-year-old Farhod Abdulloyev ran over the woman, who died on spot,” the source said.
