DUSHANBE, April 25, 2011, Asia-Plus  — Tajikistan and China have signed an agreement on providing police equipment to Tajik law enforcement authorities.

The document was inked here today by Tajik Minister of Interiors Abdurahim Qahhorov and Chinese Minister of Public Security Meng Jianzhu.

Under this agreement, China will provide three million yuan worth of police equipment to Tajik law enforcement authorities.

“This large practical aid will enhance Tajik law enforcement authorities’ efforts to provide public order and fight crimes, drug trafficking and extremism-related crimes,” Tajik minister of interiors noted during the document-signing ceremony.

An agreement on cooperation between the interior ministries of Tajikistan and China was signed in Dushanbe in 2002.

We will recall that Chinese minister of public security arrived in Dushanbe yesterday for a two-day working visit.
