DUSHANBE, June 24, 2011, Asia-Plus – A cycle marathon will take place in Dushanbe on June 27 to mark the 14th anniversary of the Peace Agreement in Tajikistan.

“All comers may participate in this sports event,” said Shavkat Saidov, a spokesman for the Dushanbe mayor’s office.  “The cycle marathon participants will cover the distance of 30 kilometers.  Presents will be given to winners and active participants.”

The main objective of the cycle marathon is in promoting development of sports in the country and formation of the Dushanbe cycle team.  Those wanting to participate in the event may apply to the Dushanbe department for youth, sports and tourism and its branches in Dushanbe’s districts, the spokesman said.
