DUSHANBE, July 12 2011, Asia-Plus — On Monday July 11, President Emomali Rahmon held a meeting to review the results of the past six months’ work and implementation of the national budget over the report period, according to the presidential press service.
The meeting participants included Prime Minister Oqil Oqilov, Minister of Finance Safarali Najmiddinov, Minister of Energy and Industries Gul Sherali, Minister of Economic Development and Trade Farrukh Hamraliyev, Minister of Agriculture Qosim Qosimov, Gorno Badakhshan Governor Qodir Qosim, Khatlon Governor Ghaybullo Avzalov and Sughd Governor Qohr Rasoulzoda as well as heads of number of relevant committees and agencies.
The regional administrators reported on crop-harvesting campaigns and the process of the repeat crop sowing on irrigated lands.
Preparation of the country’s economy for regular work during autumn-winter 2011-2012 and celebration of the 20th anniversary of Tajikistan’s Independence were also among major topics of the meeting.
During the meeting, President Emomali Rahmon once again called on well-to-do persons to provide assistance the vulnerable sections of the population, first of all, orphaned children, poor families and vulnerable people who do not have relatives to support during the Islamic holy month of Ramadan and on occasion of the 20th anniversary of the country’s independence.
