KHUJAND, August 2, 2011, Asia-Plus  — Three persons were killed and at least one injured in a traffic accident that took place in Sughd province on August 1.

According to the Sughd police directorate, the accident took place on the central street of the northern city of Qairoqqum yesterday afternoon.  “Toyota, driven by 25-year-old Bunyod Odinayev from Ghonchi district, went into oncoming traffic and struck people who were crossing the street,” the source said.

Three persons, including 32-year-old Dilorom Nematova, her seven-year-old son Naim Nematov and 25-year-old Dilrabo Tursunova, were killed and Tursunova’s two-year-old son Mirzomuhammad Tursunov sustained various injuries and was taken to the hospital.
