DUSHANBE, September 7, 2011, Asia-Plus — Aircraft of Tajik Air Force will participate in a military parade that will take place in Dushanbe on September 9 on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of Tajikistan’s Independence.

Faridoun Mahmadaliyev, a spokesman for the Ministry of Defense (MoD), says three helicopters MI-8, four helicopters MI-24, three high-performance jet trainer aircraft L-30 and two strategic bombers TU-95 will fly over the Dousti (Friendship) Square.

As it had been reported earlier, more than 10,000 soldiers and officers from the Dushanbe Garrison of the Ministry of Defense, as well as Ministries of Interior and Justice, as well as the National Guards and the Border Guard Department of the State Committee for National Security (SCNS) will be on the military parade dedicated to the 20th anniversary of Tajikistan’s Independence that will be held in Dushanbe on September 9.  Sub-units of Russian military base deployed in Tajikistan will participate in the parade as well.

Besides Tajik and Russian servicemen, composite sub-units of armed forces of Afghanistan, France, Iran and India will also be on the military parade in Dushanbe, the MoD spokesman said.

Tajik Defense Minister, Colonel-General Sherali Khairulloyev, and Commander of the Dushanbe Garrison, Major-General Latif Fayziyev, will command the parade.
