QURGHON TEPPA, September 20, 2011, Asia-Plus  — By mid-September, Khatlon province has reached nearly 70 percent of the target of distribution of lands allotted by the government for housing, according to the Khatlon economy and financial planning department.

“7,476.6 hectares of ands have been allotted in the province for housing and 4,280.7 hectares have been distributed to 33,498 families to date,” the source said.  According to him, nine of 25 cities and districts of the province have already fulfilled their land distribution targets, while the remaining sixteen cities and districts have reached from 16 to 85 percent of their land distribution targets to date.

In the meantime, a source in the Khatlon land management department says figures provided by the public commissions of the cities and districts as well as city and district administrations frequently do not correspondent to the facts.
