DUSHANBE, October 6, 2001, Asia-Plus  — Radio Asia-Plus has got a license to broadcast its programs to the whole republic and an Internet broadcast license.

The radio station director Parvona Ahrori says the broadcasting to the whole country will give a new impulse to work of Radio Asia-Plus.

According to her, the radio station work’s format will remain the same – the radio runs news bulletins in Tajik and Russian alternately on the hour, and plays music from all over the world.

The radio station has also got the Internet broadcast license that allows it to operate an Internet radio station.  Radio Asia-Plus is the first radio station in Tajikistan that will broadcast its programs in Internet.

Radio Asia-Plus became the first private radio station to go on the air in Dushanbe on September 9, 2002, after waiting for four years for a frequency license.
