KHUJAND, November 23, 2011, Asia-Plus  — Festivities dedicated to National Flag Day will take place in Tajikistan on November 24.

In Khujand, the main festive event will take place on the square outside the Sughd regional administration building.

“Some 10,000 people are expected to participate in the festive vent in Khujand,” said Abduhakim Sharipov, the head of the Sughd department for social development and public affairs.  “They will perform the national anthem of Tajikistan.”

We will recall that Tajikistan celebrated National Flag Day for the first time on November 24, 2009.  President Emomali Rahmon signed a law establishing National Flag Day in November 2009, making Tajikistan the second country in Central Asia after Turkmenistan with such a holiday.
