DUSHANBE, November 30, 2011, Asia-Plus — Drug peddler has been detained at the Khujand airport.
According to the Drug Control Agency (DCA) press center, a resident of the northern city of Chkalovsk was detained at the Khujand airport recently on suspicion having been involved in drug pushing.
The drug peddler had ingested 57 wraps of narcotic drug that tested positive to heroin weighing 259 grams, the source said.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted against the detained drug peddler under the provisions of two articles of Tajikistan’s Penal Code: Article 200 – drug trafficking; and Article 289 – smuggling. An investigation is under way.
