DUSHANBE, December 6, 2011, Asia-Plus  — Head of Tajikistan’s Migration Service Safiallo Devonayev and head of Tajik Migration Service’s office in Russia Asror Odinayev have visited St. Petersburg to get acquainted with the process of investigation into brutal murder of Tajik national Bakhtiyor Rasoulov there, the representative office of the Migration Service in Russia reported on December 6.

During his stay in St. Petersburg, Devonayev is scheduled to meet with Ms. Yelena Dunayeva, the chairperson of Russia’s Federal Migration Service (FMS)’s office for St. Petersburg and Leningrad oblast.  Cooperation between Tajikistan’s Migration Service and FMS’s office for St. Petersburg and Leningrad oblast, measures to improve the state of Tajik labor migrants and organized recruitment of manpower for needs of the region’s economy will be the focus of the meeting.

As it had been reported earlier, Mahmadali Vatanov, the head of the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament) Committee on Legislation and Human Rights, arrived in St. Petersburg on Tuesday to get acquainted with the process of investigation into the brutal murder of Tajik national.

During his visit that will last till December 11, Tajik MP will hold meetings with senior representatives from the St. Petersburg law enforcement agencies and Tajik labor migrants working in St. Petersburg and Leningrad oblast.

We will recall that beheaded and burned body of Tajik national Bakhtiyor Rasoulov was found in his car on the outskirts of St. Petersburg on November 16.  Bakhtiyor Rasoulov had been a self-employed taxi-driver in St. Petersburg.

The representative office of Tajikistan’s Migration Service in Russia says that according the Russian law enforcement authorities, the murder of Bakhtiyor Rasoulov is a domestic homicide.  Bakhtiyor Rasoulov was allegedly killed by the brother of his mistress, who was released from prison recently.  The search operation for the alleged murderer is under way, the source said.
