Brutal murder of Tajik national taken under special control, says Russian police official

DUSHANBE, December 8, 2011, Asia-Plus  — During his recent visit to St. Petersburg, Safiallo Devonayev, the head of Tajikistan’s Migration Service, hold talks wit senior representatives from the Russian interior Ministry’s office for St. Petersburg and Leningrad oblast and the Russian Federal Migration Service’s office for St. Petersburg and Leningrad oblast, according to the Tajik Migration Service’s office in the Russian Federation.

Devonayev’s discussions with the Russian law enforcement and migration authorities reportedly focused on the state of Tajik labor migrants working in the region and protection of rights and interests of our citizens in St. Petersburg and Leningrad oblast.  

The investigation into the brutal killing of Tajik national in the city of Gatchina that drew a wide public response in Tajikistan was a major topic of the talks. 

We will recall that beheaded body of Tajik national Bakhtiyor Rasoulov was found with numerous stab wounds in a burned-out car in St. Petersburg”s outskirts on November 16.  Bakhtiyor Rasoulov had worked as a taxi driver in St. Petersburg for several years.

During a meeting with Mikhail Sukhodolsky, the chief of the Russian Interior Ministry’s office for St. Petersburg and Leningrad oblast, Devonayev asked for the maximum assistance with investigation into the brutal murder.  “Sukhodolsky assured that all necessary measures are taken to solve the crime,” the source noted.

Current state of Tajik migrant workers in the region, medical examination and insurance procedures, protection of rights of our citizens and further employment  of them through the Single Migration Center figured in Devonayev’s talks with Ms. Yelena Dunayeva, the chairperson of the Russian Federal Migration Service’s office for St. Petersburg and Leningrad oblast.

Ms. Dunayeva reportedly said that the region was ready to receive the first group of Tajik labor migrants that took vocational training course at vocational-technical school # 66 in Dushanbe.  The first group of Tajik labor migrants is expected to finish the vocational training at Dushanbe’s vocational-technical school # 66 in February 2012, the source said.

Vocational-technical school # 66 in Dushanbe organizes training courses for labor migrants on the specialties that are most in demand in the Russian Federation.
